Dutch naval radio station on Long Island, Dutch East Indies destroyed by fire according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder nieuwsblad dated 3 January 1930

An item reported that the radio station of the Royal Netherlands Navy located on the Long Eiland near the Krakatau [Dutch East Indies] was destroyed by fire. Personnel was careless handling petrol with as result that radio station and their houses were completely lost. Immediately was Surabaya asked for replacement. For a period of 14 days was no radio service possible but in the meantime was the coastal station Pasaroean temporarily suitable for this service.
