Creole Petroleum Corporation ordered new building of tankers according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 8 June 1951

An item reported that the Dutch shipyards Rotterdamse Droogdok Maatschappij and C. v.d. Giessens en Zonens Scheepswerven at Kinderdijk were ordered to built two twin screw tankers with a cargo capacity of 10.000 tons for the Creole Petroleum Corporations. Total costs around 16.000.000 Dutch guilders,
