Dutch shipyards building Thais police vessels according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf dated 17 August 1951

An item dated Alkmaar 17 August reported that the shipyard v/h Nicolaas Witsen en Vis at Alkmaar received an order from the police in Thailand to built together with two other yards seven patrol vessels to be used for coast guard duties and prevent smuggling. Supervision during the building had H.W. de Voogt of Haarlem, a ship architect who also designed the Royal Piet Hein. The dimensions of the patrol vessels were 18 x 5 metres and the speed 18 miles.
