American transport Mount Vernon torpedoed according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated Monday 9 September 1918

According to official tidings was on last Tuesday the American transport Mount Vernon (the former German Kronprinzessin Cecilie) on her homeward bound voyage torpedoed 200 miles outside the French coast. She managed however without any losses to reach a safe harbour.
