Newest German submarine performed well during trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1907-1908 no. 7

An item referred to the newspaper Berliner Tageblatt reporting that the newest German submarine was quite successful during an extra ordinary trial. Fitted out with 2x225 hp petroleum engines executed she first a trial off Helgoland but while returning via Skagen towards Kiel she met heavy weather. Despite this she steamed the distance of 600 nautical miles with her own engines and without loading extra fuel. According this item was the longest distance performed by the best French torpedo boats just 300 nautical miles something which the British torpedo boats yet could not even match.
