Peruvian gunboat Loreto sunk according to the Dutch magazine Machineblad 1903-1904 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine Ueberall which reported that the newly built Peruvian gunboat Loreto sunk on 25 May 40 miles north west of the Scilly Islands. Her crew managed to escape with two boats and was picked up by a French ship. She was probably fitted out with a boiler to heavy for the construction of the ship.
