British government hiring troop transports according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 25 August 1761

An item dated London 21 August report that the British government hired a large number of ships to be used as troop transports. They were to be assembled in the mouth of the Thames to embark troops for Germany or for an expedition. All the whalers that year fitted out and a large number of large so-called Koolhaalders [coal freighters] were hired.
