British naval base at Mayaguana according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Apeldoornsche Courant dated 21 December 1940

New York, 21 December. The newspaper United Press reported from Nassau, Bahamas that the Duke of Windsor signed a contract in which the USA supplied the United Kingdom an area on the island Mayagoeana to establish a naval base.
