The fleet of Greenland whalers that year numbered 172 ships namely 75 of
Amstrdam, 33 of Zaandam, eight of De Ryp, six of Rotterdam, six of Westzaan,
five of Middelburg, four of Oostzaan, of Alkmaar, Zandijk, De Koog, Jisp and
Vlissingen each two ships, of Dordrecht, Krimpen, Monnikendam and Wormerveer
each one ship, totally 151 Dutch ships and further more 18 of Hamburg, two of
Altona and one of Bremen.
The Davis Strait whalers consisted of 8 ships: six of Amsterdam, one of De Koog and one of Oostzaan.
