Dutch paddle steam tug Magnet for sale at Harlingen, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder courant dated 6 May1887

An announcement reported that notary W. Sijpkens Kijlstra at Harlingen intended to sell on the 11^th at 18.00 o’clock in the locality Korenbeurs the very powerfull paddle steam tug Magnet which was in well condition and now lying in the Zuiderhaven, Harlingen. The newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 13^th published an item dated Harlingen the 11^th reporting that she that same evening was to be bought for at least ƒ 900, immediately offered P. Hamstra Pzn. ƒ 110 more. Another newspaper the Algemeen Handelsblad dated 2 May published an item dated Harlingen 30 April reporting that she had a horsepower of 50 hp, measured 57 tons and was to be sold. The edition of the 19^th reported that on the auction a day earlier G.P. Pals en Zonen of Ridderkerk, Netherlands had the highest bid with ƒ 1.560. The owners would decide within two days.
