Haitian gunboat Liberté exploded according to the Dutch newspaper The Sumatra Post dated 28 October 1910

An item reported that the gunboat Liberté of the Haitian navy was destroyed near Port de Paix caused by an explosion. Of the crew were 70 men killed and just 20 saved. This item was confirmed by the newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 27 October.
