Boston, 14 December 1825. Here arrived the two most important Mexican newspapers. According to these the secretary of Navy departed towards Vera Cruz. Rumours claimed that his voyage was caused by the occupation of the fortress San Juan de Ulloa. The reporters of the newspapers praised the increasing number of Mexican warships but were against the suggestion done in the National meetings, to keep out all ships out of Mexican ports; belonging to countries which didn’t recognised the Mexican independence. The important trade between Mexico and France could be destroyed with such a measure.
