Parisian merchants paid fitting out of a ship of the line according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haarlemse Courant 18 June 1803

An item dated Paris 12 June reported that the fitting out and equipping of a ship of the line as offered by the Parisian merchants to the government would be paid by a contribution tax proportionally of the patents.
