The French navy in the South American area according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 May 1827

Paris, 18 May. From Toulon arrived tidings dated 12 May that the French 60-gun frigate la Marie Therese with on board rear admiral Rozamel arrived yesterday evening around 21.00 oclock. Rozamel was commanding officer of the French fleet in the Southern seas. The ship left 20 February 1824 Toulon and returned 26 February 1827 from Rio Janeiro, Brazil. Of the crew of 425 men just one man lost his life, namely on the homeward bound voyage when he went over board.
