The Greek and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 5 July 1825
Augsburg, 29 June. The newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung
published a news item dated 13 June that according to tidings from Constantinople dated the 7th the Captain Pasha was
attacked by the Greek admiral Sachtury in the waters of Mitylene but managed to
go towards the waters of Zea with no memorable losses. Sachtury attacked
however 28 May again now between Zea and Capo d’Oro destroying his frigate and a brig and destroying
of capturing 20 small vessels. After this fight the Captain Pasha retreated
into the waters of Andros to go Mitylene again
if possible.
