The Greek and the Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 10 September 1824

Augsburg, 3 September. The Allgemeine Zeitung published a news item dated Trieste 21 August. According to this item were there rumours that the Captain Pasha off Mitylene was attacked by the Greeks and fled with considerable losses to the Golf of Smyrna.

Bucharest, 15 August, Since two days there are rumours that the possessions and the palace of the Captain Pasha at Constantinople are sealed as ordered by the sultan.

Frankfurt, 5 September. According to a letter dated Smyrna 2 August was the Captain Pasha with his squadron at this place intending to attack Samos.
