Turkish naval preparations in the Mediterranean according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 11 October 1821

Vienna, 28 September. According to letters coming from Constantinople didn’t left the Capian Pasha the city and wouldn’t probably take over the command of the fleet in the Archipelago. Two ships of the line and some small vessels departed in the meantime. They were fitted out with a remarkable hurry. It’s hardly to believe that Turkey was able within such a short time to fit out a considerable large fleet.
