According to the Dutch newspaper Den Avondbode performed the Zr.Ms. iron steamship Etna (1) very well and she was to be armed within short time to patrol just like the Hekla against the pirates along the North East Coast of Java. At Rio (?) arrived 29 January the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Kastor (2) and the colonial schooner Krokodil (3) to serve as cruisers against the pirates in the waters of Linga.
