Paris, 27 June. The Moniteur published today the news that in the morning of the 11th the French goelette la Torche, commanded by Captain Lieutenant Faure, arrived at Algiers, bringing orders to the French consul general Deval. Deval embarked directly on board of the goelette while the rest of his personnel and French subjects went on board of a French brig, which joined the goelette. Together with Captain Collet, commanding officer of the French squadron was a demand made towards the Dey dealing with his behaviour. It was demanded that the French flag was hoisted on the fortress of Algiers and saluted with 100 gunshots, if not, were the hostilities started again. The French corvette le Volean took on board the vice consuls of the French le Bona and the fortress la Calla and the French subjects living around these waters. The 16th was the French division off Algiers preventing the privateers to leave the harbour and attacking the merchant shipping.
