Zante, 9 April. The 6 vessels of Hydra ordered to support operations on the coast of the Ionian Sea left after the successful event at Acarnanie towards the Archipelago to join the Greek fleet. Fife ships of Spezzia were stationed in the Bay of Patras for blockade duties. An Austrian frigate recently tried gain to escort a merchant brig destined towards Patras but when the Greeks were ready to use force to stop the escort the frigate signed the brig to return. A vessel which arrived in 7 days from Tenedos reported that the Turkish fleet left Tenedos towards Mitylene but when the Greek fleet with fire ships in great haste returned to the Dardanelles. Two other ships coming from the African coast reported that they met off Cape Bon a Greek squadron with two prizes captured in the harbour of Tunis.
