The Dutch navy in 1867 according to Albert, Baron von Sack

Thanks to the fact that nowadays more and more books are digitized we are able to read books that are some times for decades no longer available for the public for several reasons. That's quite a pity while these books contains useful information while the archives are destroyed, incomplete or nor accessible.

5 frigates of 51, 45 en 20 guns, total 218 guns.
l armoured frigate of 4 guns.
l armoured floating battery of 14 guns.
3 armoured gunboats each of 2 guns, total 6 guns.

11 corvettes with 6-20 guns and 22 screw steamships of 8-10 guns, total 350 guns.

1 ship of the line 2nd class of 74 guns.
3 frigates of the 1st class, each of 54-60 guns, total 174 guns.
3 frigates of the 2nd class, each of 44 guns, total 132 guns.
4 corvettes of the 1st class, each of 22-32 guns, Total 104 guns.
3 corvettes of the 2nd class, each of 10-20 guns, total 42 guns.
5 brigs, each of 12-15 guns, total 78 guns.
3 schooner brigs, each of 6-10 guns, total 22 guns.
1 schooner of 3 guns.
1 transport of 18 guns.
27 gunboats (25 large and 2 small), total 95 guns.
13 defence vessels, total 65 guns.
3 armoured gunboats, total 4 guns.
135 ships and vessels with total 1.670 guns.
The personal strength existed of 1 admiral, 2 vice-admirals. 4 rear admirals and nearly 6.000 officers of lower rank and sailors.”
