An announcement reported that on Wednesday 9 May the auction masters in the presence of a commissary from the Raad van Justitie in Batavia, Dutch east Indies intended to sell the bark ship Jousour with her inventory lying there. Three masts, one deck, built in the Dutch East Indies with as dimensions 21,92 x 6,22 x 4,05 (hold) metres able to carry 92 lasten and property of the Arabian Said Salim Bin Afie Bin Sjech Aboebarkar. The sale was approved by Justice on 8 April on behalf of the Nederlandsche Handels maatschappij, the firm W. Anderson&Co. and the firm W.R. Paterson&Co.
