An item dated Washington the 25th reported that during the
latest manoeuvres in the Atlantic and received details dealing with the sized
of European submarines the US Navy would chose for larger seagoing submarines
in stead of the until now used design for submarines used for the coastal
defence. It was believed that the USA had a huge backlog compared
