American ships Ada M. Dyer, Catacean and John A. Lewis to be used as whalers according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 5 December 1865

An item reported that on Monday night three schooners arrived at Princetown, Massachusetts all of the 1st class and intended to be used as whalers. The Ada M. Dyer of 119 tons old measurement was built at Essex and owned by Alfred Cook and others. Her captain was to be Isaac A. Dyer. The Cetacean of 117 tons old measurement was also built at Essex and owned by A.T. Williams and others. Her captain would be Nathaniel Atwood. The John A. Lewis of 115 tons old measurement was built at Ipswich and owned by Nathaniel Lewis and others. Captain would be Lewis L. Chapman.
