American whaler Platina lying in October off the Galapagos Islands according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 12 December 1865

An item referred to a letter written by captain Hamblen on board of the bark Platina of Westport reporting that she was lying on 15 October off the Galapagos Islands with a catch of 750 barrels sperm and 140 barrels whale oil.
