Dutch bark Ijmuiden returned from the Dutch East Indies with a leopard on board according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated Thursday 15 October 1865

An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 14th reported that yesterday morning a steamboat departed towards Amsterdam, Netherlands picked up a very handsome leopard destined for the Koninklijk Zoölogisch Genootschap Natura Artis Magistra at Artis. She was transported to the Netherlands with the Dutch bark ship IJmuiden captain G.J. Melenberg coming from Batavia, Dutch East Indies.
