According to rumours fought Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Vliegende Visch with French corvette according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 24 November 1832

An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands 23rd reported that the tiding of another Dutch newspaper Bredasche Courant that the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Vliegende Visch fought with a French corvette off Goeree could not be confirmed lacking extra ordinary or official announcements.(2)

1. Laid down at the navy yard of Rotterdam, Netherlands on 25 July 1826, launched on 17 June 1829, 1845 guard ship, broken up 1847, an armament of 14 guns, a crew numbering 46-56 men and a speed of 9-10½ knots.
 2. On 25 August 1830 started a revolt in what afterwards become the independent kingdom of Belgium but at that moment since 1815 still part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. On 4 October 1830 declared the Belgians their independence, on 21 July 1831 was their first king installed. Not earlier as in 1839 accepted the Netherlands the consequences (Treaty of London). France and England supported the Belgians in their desire for independence.
