Dutch paddle steamship 2nd class Zr.Ms. Bromo 1873-1917

Iron-built with wood planking. On stocks at the shipyard of Kon. Fabriek van Werktuigen etc., Amsterdam, Netherlands 1873, launched 22 September 1874 for account of the Department of Colonies, commissioned 16 March 1875, departed towards the Dutch East Indies 8 June 1875, guard ship at Batavia, Dutch East Indies 27 August-13 November 1883, decommissioned for major repairs and converted into a guard ship 15 March 1890, commissioned as guard ship at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies 1 April 1892, decommissioned 1 December 1899, uses as victualler for the army during the Celebes-expedition 1895, fitted out as coal hulk and used at Kerauke, Dutch East Indies since February 1910, towed towards Nieuw Guinea 1910, stricken 1914, towed towards Surabaya 1916, sold there to the Koninklijke Paketvaart Mij (K.P.M), Amsterdam, Netherlands, on the navy establishment at 09.00 o’clock Monday 12  November 1917, one of the largest ships of the Indies Military Marine, displacement 1.300 tons, dimensions 60 (between perpendiculars)-9,39-16,17 (over paddlewheels) - 4 metres, horsepower 200 nhp/950 ehp, rigged but worse sailing performances, a crew numbering 100-134 (1885: 101 Europeans, 33 natives)  men and an armament consisting of 2 rifled 16cm guns no., 4-12cm guns.
