Swedish screw steam corvette Balder visited Willemstad, Curacao according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 4 February 1882

An item reported the arrival at Willemstad, Curacao in Tuesday 31st January of the Swedish steam warship Balder commanded by A. Brosberg. She saluted while anchoring in the Schottegat which was answered by the Waterfort. The next morning was she visited by L.V. Leyba, consul for Sweden and Norway on Curacao. On Saturday morning was she visited by the Dutch governor. The edition dated the 11th reported her departure on Thursday the 9th towards Colon [Panama?].(1)

1. Wood-built screw steam corvette, launched at Karlskrona, Sweden in 1870, with a crew of 218 men, an armament of 4-6.6” breech loading guns and 2-30pd guns. With a displacement of 1.850 tons were her dimensions 61,80 x 11,10 x 5,59 metres or 202’9” x 36’5” x 18’4”. Speed 12 knots.
