An item dated Athens, Greece the 28th reported that near Zante a bottle was salvage out of the water containing a letter dated the 20th reporting that the German frigate of war Stein was lost at sea. The fate of her crew was yet unknown. The edition dated 1 February however referred to a telegram of the German admiralty shat she was lying safe at Trieste, Italy.
