Coal station founded at Wadu Halfa for bunkering British gunboats according to the Dutch newspaper Schiedamsche Courant dated 1 June 1896

An item reported that at Wadu Halfa a coal station would be established on behalf of the Nile steamboats. The gunboats now used as tugs were probably around mid July to be transported over the waterfall. To execute this intention were around 1.000 natives necessary.
