Of the admiralty Amsterdam, hired from the Dutch East Indies Company chamber Amsterdam or Hoorn in 1653, dimensions (Amsterdam foot) 170 (prow) x 38 x 12½, draught 21, height below verdeck 7, an armament of 32 (4-18pd, 18-12pd, 10-6pd) guns and a crew numbering 196-296 (included 100 soldiers) men. In July 1653 lying in the Vlie, E.I.C. Chamber Amsterdam [or Hoorn] refused to unload the ship and supply her with a heavier armament until ordered to do so.
