British ship Lady Ruthven underway from Chile towards Germany wrecked Callantsoog, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 12 November 1895

An item reported the stranding off Callantsoog, Netherlands of the British ship Lady Ruthven captain Jones underway from Iquique, Chile towards Hamburg, Germany loaded with saltpetre. Tugs were underway to assist. A later item reported that she was abandoned by her crew who were saved by fishermen and brought towards Nieuwediep, Netherlands.(1)

1. The newspaper Vliegend blaadje dated 13 November described her as an iron-built frigate ship stranded near the groote Keeten and finally wrecked.
