In 1961 was the Dutch firm Nederlandsche Vereenigde Scheepsbouw Bureaux (NEVESBU) at The Hague, Netherlands interested in designing and building a mine layer for the Danish navy. The armament was to consist of 2x2-3”/50 MK33 guns, one turret for and one aft, 2-2” rocket launchers, 2 smoke screen M/51 systems and small arms. Total horsepower 4.800 hp and a speed of 17 knots. Maximum displacement 1.800 tons and as dimensions 70,00 (between perpendiculars)-73,40 (over all) x 12,80 (extreme moulded) x 3,50 x 5,400 (depth to mine deck)-8,100 (depth to upper deck) metres. In a latter concept was the length changed in 72,50 (between perpendiculars)-77,00 (over all), the standard displacement from 1.620 into 1.715 tons and the full load displacement including 3% reserve into 1.900 tons. The bunker capacity of the diesel oil was 115 tons, lubricating oil 14 tons and fresh water 16 tons/ The main engines were to be 2 geared diesels each of 2.400 bhp at around 800 rpm. The auxiliary engines were to consist of 4 ships 350kW service generators diesel driven and 1-15kW emergency generator. Trial speed with 1/1 mines and ammunition and ¾ fuel oil was to be around 17 knots. Mine capacity around 250 US Mk25 mines placed athwart, or 200 US Mk25 mines in British standard trolleys or 175 US Mk6 mines.
