New German battleships to be armed with 38cm guns according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 4

An item referred to the German magazine Marine Rundschau of July confirming that the in 1913 approved battleships were to be armed with 8-38cm guns and 16-15cm guns. The same magazine pointed outh that in 1912 the 30,5cm calibre was accepted while the piercing capability was equal to the heavier foreign guns and further more faster and lighter in use. The new armoured cruiser Derfflinger was to be fitted out with 8-30,5cm guns and 12-15cm guns. From the König-class on was the main armament exclusive to be situated amidships. The belt thickness of the Nassau and Helgoland-classes was 30cm, of the Kaiser-class 35cm.
