First new large German torpedoboat S138 launched according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1906-1907 no. 8

An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the first German torpedo boat of the series S138-140 was launched at the shipyard of Schichau, Elbing. With a displacement of 530 tons, a length of 68 and a draught of 2,60 metres were these torpedo boats far larger as the French destroyers. Fitted out with 4 boilers and a horsepower of 10.000 ihp was their design speed 30 miles. The armament consisted of 3 submerged torpedo tubes, 1-8,8cm gun and 4-4cm guns.
