French built Russian armoured cruiser Admiral Makrov performed very well during trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 No. 11
An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reported that the Russian battleship Amiral Makharoff built at the Seyne achieved during the full speed trial a speed of 22,55 knots which was more as 1,5 knots then contracted and a horsepower of 19.000 ihp which was 2,500 ihp as contracted. At the pre trial achieved she with 8.200 ihp and 99 rpm a speed of 18,25 knots. Fitted out with Belleville-boilers and economizers. The results proved that she was well designed and fitted out with well rendering machinery. On 18 January was the official 6 hours trial performed with a speed of 14 knots with the restriction that the maximum fuel consumption was 1 kilo: 1 hp: 1hour. Using the Belleville-boilers and economizers was the developed horsepower 3.300 hp with a coal consumption of 0.535 kilo/1 hp/1 hour. Boilers and machinery were manufactured at the Forges et Chantiers de la Mediterranée.(1)

1. The Admiral Makarov belonged to the Bayan-class armoured cruisers. Laid down by Forges et Chantiers de la Mediterranée, La Seyne-sur-Mer, France in April 1905, launched on 28 May 1906, completed in April 1908 and sold to be broken up in 1922.
