Dutch shipyard Kon. Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands manufactured steam steering gears for the Dutch ram monitors 2nd class Zr. Ms. Adder en Wesp in 1879

In the order administration dated 15 December 1879 was the order for account of the Dutch Department of navy board Amsterdam described as the delivery of two steam steering gears Bow McLachlan’s Patent for the Dutch ram monitors 2nd class Zr. Ms. Adder (1) en Wesp (2)for a contracted price of ƒ 20.900. Building costs ƒ 12.808,86 (devices ƒ 7.108,71, material ƒ 1.514,61, labour ƒ 1.317,21, 65% expenses on labour ƒ 856,16 and travels cost+adjusting ƒ 2.012,17) resulting in a profit of ƒ 8.091,14.

1. On stocks at the Navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 31 December 1870, launched on 28 September 1871, trial on 24 October 1873, commissioned on 16 June 1875 and sunk without survivors on 5 July 1882.
2. On stocks at the Navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 31 December 1870, launched on 28 December 1871, trial on 30 September 1874, stricken and sold to be broken up in 1906.
