German auxiliary cruiser successful harassed merchant shipping on the Pacific according to the Dutch newspaper De banier dated 2 January 1941

An item dated Berlin, Germany 31st December 1940 reported that a new prove of German successes in the Pacific were received. Forty Norwegian sailors arrived at Hong Kong reported that a German auxiliary cruiser reported hat in the first week of December sunk a tanker. This cruiser operated near Singapore getting new provisions at sea. The Norwegian sailors claimed she measured around 10.000 tons and was armed with 15cm and even 20,3cm guns. Het Nieuwsblad van het Zuiden reported that this cruiser sunk in the first week of December three British cargo ships and furthermore a tanker.
