Italian navy ordered building of tankers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 5

An item reported that the Italian admiralty intended to order the building of 5-1.000 ton displacement motor tankers at the Societa Esercizio Bacini. Three were to be fitted out with Fiat engines, the other two with Tost engines.
