Laid down at the Portsmouth Dockyard on 6 December 1906, launched on 27 July 1907, commissioned on 27 February 1909, reserve in 1919 and sold to be broken up on 8 November 1921 which was executed in 1923. Building costs 1.763.491 pond sterling.
Bellerophon-class dreadnoughts consisting of the Bellerophon, Superb and Temeraire preceded by the Dreadnought and succeeded by the St. Vincent-class. General technical class specifications. Displacement 18.800 (load)-22.102 (full load) tons and as dimensions 160,3 (over all) x 25,2 x 8,3 metres or 526 x 83 x 27,2 feet. The direct drive turbines with four shafts and 18 boilers supplied 25.061 ihp allowing a speed of 21,25 knots. With a speed of 10 knots a range of 5.720 nautical miles. Their crew numbered 733 men. The armour consisted of a 12,7-25,4cm/5-10” thick belt. a 1,5-10,2cm/0,5-4” thick deck with the turrets, barbettes and conning tower respectively protected by 28cm/11”, 12,7-22,9cm/5-9” and 20,3-28cm/8-1”. The armament consisted of 5x2-30,48cm/12” breech loading Mk X guns, 16-10,16cm/4” breech loading Mk VIII guns, 4-3pd guns and 3-45cm/18” torpedo tubes.
