Dutch protected corvette Hr. Ms. Sumatra launched at Amsterdam, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 30 April 1890

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 28th reported the successful launching of the protected corvette Sumatra (1) at the shipyard Koninklijke Fabriek van Stoom- en andere Werktuigen for account of the Department of Colonies. The Algemeen Handelsblad dated Thursday 24th reported that the launching was planned for Saturday 15.00 o’clock.
