England intended building 4 battleships according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 21 September 1921

An item dated London, England 20th reported the possibility that in the coming months four new battleships were to be laid for account of the British Royal Navy.  The admiralty ordered the building by private shipyards in England and Scotland. Each of the four shipyards would employ 3.000 men during the building.(1)

1. The N3-class, preceded by the Revenge-class and succeeded by the Nelson-class with a displacement of around 49.300 tons and as main armament 3x3-45,7cm/18” guns. Never built die to the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922 limiting the building of battleships, their displacement and the calibre of the main guns.
