Of the Type 722 Wangerooge-class consisting of the Wangeroogem Spiekeroog, Langeoog, Baltrum, Norderney and Juist. Call sign DRIJ. Homeport Kiel, Germany. Type 722B. Laid down by Schichau, Bremerhaven, Germany with yard number 1736 on 20 November 1965, launched on 26 September 1966 and commissioned on 14 August 1968. Displacement 798 tons and as dimensions 52,7 x 12,2 metres or 172.11 x 40.0 feet. Other sources reporting 854 (standard)-1.024 (full load) tons and as dimensions 52 x 12,1 x 3,9 metres or 170.6 x 39.4 x 12.8 feet. Horsepower around 2.000hp/1.500kW. Speed of 12-13 knots. Range with a speed of 10 knots 5.000 nautical miles. Some vessels of this class were armed with 1-4cm Bofors gun. Crew numbers 33 civilians.
