Chinese opponents fighting along the banks of the river towards Canton, China according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 19 June 1922

An item dated Hong Kong 19th reported that in the afternoon of the 18th 4 gunboats and a torpedo boat of the forces of Soen-yat-Sen entered the river towards Canton. The forces commanded by general Tsjen Tsjoeng Ming started firing at the flotilla which started bombarding the hills where Mings troops were stationed and the island Honam, although without much damage and casualties. Citizens of Canton fled towards Hong Kong.
