North Sea danger area for shipping due to Germans laying mines according to the Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 29 October 1914

An item dated London, England 29th October reported that due to the laying of mines by the Germans in the North Sea the ultimate and in fact only reliable measure was to close the North Sea for neutral shipping.
