An item referred to the Proceedings dated March 1937 reporting that on 27 November 1936 at Uraga, Japan the Siamese flotilla vessel Mekong was launched. She was a sister ship of the Tachin launched in July 1936. Displacement 1.400 tons, a speed of 14 knots and an armament of 4-14cm/5.5” guns and 4 torpedo tubes. Both ships were to be used as training ship for the continuously increasing personnel strength of the Siamese navy.(1)
