British destroyer HMS Diana and submarine Perseus visited the Dutch East Indies in 1937

An item reported that the British destroyer Diana (1) and submarine Perseus (2) visited the Dutch East Indies harbours Balik Papan between 20-25 January 1937 and Oosthaven between 28-31 January 1937.

Notes
1. D-class destroyer, building ordered on 2 February 1921m laid down by Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Company, Hebburn-on-Tyne on 12 June 1931, launched on 16 June 1932, completed on 21 December 1932, handed over to the Royal Canadian Navy on 6 September 1940, renamed Margaree and sunk due to a collision with the cargo ship Port Fairy on 22 October 1940.
2. Parthian class submarine, laid down by Vickers-Armstrong, Barrow-in-Furness-England on 2 July 1928, launched on 22 May 1929, commissioned on 15 April 1930 and sunk after striking an Italian mine off Cephalonia, Greece on 6 December 1941.
