British sloop HMS Grimsby visited the Dutch East Indies in 1935-1936

An item reported that the British sloop HMS Grimsby with the British Consul General at Batavia visited the Dutch East Indies harbours Tarakan between 2-5 December 1935, Menado between 7-9 December 1935, Ternate between 10-12 December 1935, Manokwari between 14-17 December 1935, Doho between 20-23 December 1935, Amboina between 24-26 December 1935, Koepang between 30 December 1935-2 January 1936, Endeh between 2-4 January 1936, Makassar between 5-9 September 1936, Benoa between 10-13 January 1936, Semarang between 15-17 January 1936, Cheribon between 18-19 January 1936, Batavia between 20-25 January 1936, Bandjermasin between 27-30 January 1936, Samarinda between 1-4 February 1936, Dongala between 5-6 February 1936, Sangir on 8 February 1936, Terampa between 19-21 September 1936, Djimadja Islands between 21-22 September 1936 and Tandjong Pinang between 29 September-2 October 1936.(1)

1. Of the Grimsby-class sloops, laid down at the Devonport Dockyard, England on 23 January 1933, launched on 19 July 1933, completed on 17 May 1934 and sunk during a German air attack underway towards Tobruk. Libya on 25 May 1941.
