Soviet Union sending several warships towards Vladivostok according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1939 no. 2


An item referred to the Revista Marittime dated November 1938 reporting that the Japanese press claimed that in the spring the Soviet Union sent to Vladivostok the cruisers Krasay Kavkaz (1) and Profintern (2), the destroyer Dzerjinsky, the minelayer Pervoie Maza and 6-600 ton submarines.

1. The Admiral Lazarev of the Svetlana-class light cruisers, laid down by Russud Dockyard, Nikolayev, Ukraine on 31 October 1913, launched on 21 June 1916, renamed Krasnyi Kavkaz on 14 December 1926 and sunk while ised as taregt on 21 November 1952.
2. The Profintern was the former Svetlana of the Svetlana-class light cruisers, laid down at the Russo-Baltic Shipyard at Reval (Tallinn, Estonia) on 7 December 1913, commissioned on 1 July 1928, renamed Krasnyi Krym on 31 October 1939 and broken up in July 1959.
